Pentecost Sunday

Acts 2:1-11  /  1 Corinthians 12:3b-7,12-13  /  John 20:19-23


Acts 2:1-2

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together.  And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were.


1 Corinthians 12:4-7

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.  To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.

John 20:19

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."

Acts 1:26

They then gave lots to them, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was counted with the eleven apostles.


1 John 4:15-16

Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God.  We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us.


John 17:11

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying:  "Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one."

Acts 10:34-35

Then Peter proceeded to speak and said, "In truth, I see that God shows no partiality.  Rather, in every nation whoever fears him and acts uprightly is acceptable to him."


1 John 4:9-10

God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.  In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.


John 15:15

"I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.  It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you"

Acts 9:31

The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace.  It was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord, and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit it grew in numbers.


1 John 3:18

Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.


John 15:4-5

Remain in me, as I remain in you.  Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remain on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.  I am the vine, you are the branches.

Acts 4:11-12

He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.  There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.


1 John 3:1

The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

 

John 10:14

I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I will lay down my life for the sheep.

Third Sunday of Easter

Acts 3:13

Peter said to the people: "The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus."


1 John 2:1-3

We have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one.  He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world.  The way we may be sure that we know him is to keep his commandments.
 

Luke 24:36

While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."

With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all.

And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.
 


John 20:20-21

The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.  Jesus said to them again,  "Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, so I send you."

Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
 


John 20:8

Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.

"Amen, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed to the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her."

Jeremiah 31:33

I will place my law within them and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
 


Hebrews 5:8-9

Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered;  and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.


John 12:26

Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be.  The Father will honor whoever serves me.

Ephesians 2:9-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast.  For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them.

 
John 3:21

But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor, you shall not covet your neighbor's house.  You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ass, nor anything else that belongs to him.


1 Corinthians 1:22-24

Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.


John 2:19

Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."

Genesis 22:16-17

I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you acted as you did in not withholding from me your beloved son, I will bless you abundantly and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore.


Romans 8:31-32

Brothers and sisters:  If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him?


Mark 9:7-8

Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, "This is my beloved Son.  Listen to him."  Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them.

Genesis 9:12-13

"This is the sign that I am giving for all ages to come, of the covenant between me and you and every living creature with you:  I set my bow in the clouds to serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth."


1 Peter 3:18

Beloved:  Christ suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God.  Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the Spirit.

Mark 1:14-15

After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:  "This is the time of fulfillment.  The kingdom of God is at hand.  Repent, and believe in the gospel."
